Qualified Dental Nurse Opportunities at Evesham Dental Health Team

Evesham Dental Health Team is a forward-thinking private practice with a team of 25 dental health professionals. We offer our patients quality dental care with a strong emphasis on periodontal health and overall wellness. We provide orthodontics, facial aesthetics and receive referrals for implants, 3D CBCT scans, sedation and comprehensive restorative and cosmetic treatments. We invest in the latest technology and team training to create a favourable working environment.
We have a great reputation amongst our community, and the practice is more popular than ever.
We want to recruit two experienced dental nurses to replace two fabulous nurses, one of whom is taking the opportunity to expand a horticultural business with her husband, and another who is progressing her career to become a nurse training tutor.
This exciting role includes treatment nursing with the dentists, therapists and hygienists, and working independently with patients as a treatment coordinator/dental health nurse.
Duties include:
- Providing exceptional customer experience to all patients
- Communication with patients via email, telephone and face-to-face
- Coordinating patient consultations, calling through the dentist or handing over to a colleague for further treatment
- Explaining recommended treatment options using sensitive language and audio-visual aids (e.g. DDSGP animation, photographs, models etc) and complete relevant consent forms
- Reviewing and encouraging oral health home care techniques at re-care appointments
- Offering preventive and dietary advice
- Showing patients their plaque on a microscope to help them understand periodontal disease
- Demonstrating home tooth whitening techniques
- Taking and processing radiographs
- Taking impressions, making models and whitening trays
- Taking intraoral scans as we progress in the digital age
- 3D printing
- Characterisation and glazing of CEREC crowns
- Taking and printing digital clinical photographs e.g. before and after applying disclosing liquid or tooth whitening
- Stock checking, decontamination, maintenance, audits and compliance
We would like to recruit a nurse with the following qualities:
- Ability to work in teams, listening and contributing towards decision-making and practice success
- A positive, non-judgemental & open-minded attitude
- An ability to thrive in a busy environment whilst maintaining first class service
- GCSE grade A-C in English and Mathematics (or equivalent)
- UK Dental Nursing qualification, GDC registration or close to qualifying
- Dental Radiography qualification preferred, or the ability to start studying for the qualification immediately.
- Suitable level of physical fitness (e.g. going up and down stairs and standing for long periods)
- Confidence and skill using computers, SOE Exact, email, Word, Excel, Dropbox etc
- Ability to multitask and meticulous attention to detail
- Well presented, professional, caring and confident in a patient facing role
