Evesham Dental Health Team in Broadway Road continually researches and invests in the latest technology to ensure our patients receive excellent dental care.
This is why we have invested in CEREC technology, which enables us to design, create and fit a ceramic filling or dental crown during a single appointment. In the past, treatment for a dental crown could have taken at least two weeks and required multiple appointments.
This technology will be music to the ears of patients who don’t want to have to wait while their crown is produced in a dental laboratory or have the inconvenience of having to fit extra dental visits into their busy diaries.
Patients will be especially interested to learn that CEREC also negates the need for impressions. Instead of filling a tray with impression ‘goop’ that you must bite into and hold in your mouth until it hardens, a camera is used to take a digital picture of your tooth. This whole ‘Optical Impression’ process only takes a minute or two.
Your new crown will then be milled in-house from a ceramic block that matches your tooth shade. This means there is no need for a temporary crown or return visit – you will leave with a beautifully crafted new filling or crown! As well as allowing your dental treatment to be carried out in just one visit, ceramic fillings and crowns crafted using CEREC technology are strong and durable, which helps them last well into the future.
