Latest news about your dental care at Evesham Dental Health Team

Following the Prime Minister’s announcement about easing the lockdown measures, we thought we would let you know how this may affect your dental care going forwards.

We are awaiting more detailed advice from the Government about what any proposed changes will look like and how they may impact our practice. Although we are currently not seeing patients face-to-face, we are cautiously hopeful that we will be able to soon, and we will keep you posted as we hear, of course.

Please keep checking this page for all the very latest news. We will be publishing useful information about our opening process here as soon as we receive the national guidance.

Your safety

The safety of you and our team is our top priority. We will create a short video to show you everything we are doing to keep you and our team safe.

We can’t wait to return to work and do what we do best – care for your dental wellbeing. In the meantime, please keep in touch if you have any concerns about your mouth, teeth or gums as we are open for telephone, email and virtual consultations.

Do you have a dental emergency?

We are sorry to hear you have a dental emergency at this time. NHS England and the Department of Health has instructed dental practices to prioritise urgent treatment where possible. This guidance is to reduce the risk of virus transmission to you and to staff.

Firstly, our principal dentist Richard Colebourne will determine the cause and severity of your dental emergency.

Go straight to A&E if you have:

• Facial swelling affecting your vision, breathing or preventing your mouth opening more than 2 fingers’ width

• Trauma causing loss of consciousness, double vision or vomiting

Do you have any of the following?

Facial swelling extending to your eye, neck or floor of your mouth

Bleeding following an extraction that does not stop after 20 mins of pressure with a gauze

Bleeding due to trauma

Severely broken tooth, or tooth fallen out with pain

Toothache that is preventing sleep or eating combined with swelling or fever that

is not manageable with pain killers

If you need emergency dental advice during surgery hours, please leave a message on Richard’s mobile 07717 441712 and he will return your call. You will decide together whether advice, analgesics, antibiotics, video consultation, or a referral to an Urgent Treatment Centre is the best way forward.

If you’d like to speak with us about a non-emergency dental question please do get in touch by Richard’s phone or email. Non-emergency issues may be:

  • loose or lost crowns, bridges or veneers
  • Fractured, rubbing or loose dentures
  • Broken, loose or lost fillings
  • Chipped teeth with no pain
  • Loose orthodontic wires
  • Bleeding gums

We can give advice over the phone, so please don’t suffer in silence. We are here to help, however we can.

Thank you for supporting us, we can’t wait to get back to doing what we love best. Stay safe, stay healthy and see you back soon!
